Assuming that you have a WooCommerce store up and running, the first thing you need to do is log in to your WordPress Dashboard and go to WooCommerce -> Settings.
On the main Settings page, select the Shipping tab and then click on the sub-tab that says Shipping Zones.
You will be taken to a page that shows all the shipping zones defined for your store. By default, WooCommerce comes with two shipping zones: Canada and the Rest of the World.
If you want to add a new shipping zone, simply click on the Add Shipping Zone button.
On the next page, you will need to provide a few details about your new shipping zone. First, you need to give your shipping zone a name.
This name is for internal use only, so it can be anything you want. For example, you could name it after the geographical region it covers or the type of products it contains.
Next, you need to specify the countries that should be included in this shipping zone. You can either select them from the drop-down list or enter their two-letter ISO codes in the text field provided.
If you want to add multiple countries, simply separate them with a comma.
Finally, you need to choose a default shipping method for this zone. This is the shipping method that will be used if no other shipping methods are available.
For example, if you are adding a shipping zone for Canada, you might want to choose Canada Post as your default shipping method.
– Choose the correct shipping class for your products
– Set the correct price for shipping
– Add any necessary handling fees
If you do not do these things correctly, your customers may be overcharged for shipping, or worse, you may lose money on shipping altogether.
Now that we have covered how to add a new shipping zone in WooCommerce, let’s take a look at how to add a flat rate shipping method to one of these zones. Flat rate shipping is a type of shipping where the customer is charged a fixed price for shipping regardless of how many items they purchase. This can be useful if you want to offer free shipping for orders over a certain amount or if you want to charge a fixed price for shipping regardless of destination.
To add a flat rate shipping method to one of your WooCommerce shipping zones, first log in to your WordPress Dashboard and go to WooCommerce -> Settings. On the main Settings page, select the Shipping tab and then click on the sub-tab that says Shipping Zones.
You will be taken to a page that shows all the shipping zones defined for your store. Find the zone that you want to add flat rate shipping to and click on the Edit link next to it.
On the next page, scroll down to the Shipping Methods section and click on the Add Shipping Method button. This will bring up a list of all the available shipping methods. Find Flat Rate in this list and click on its Add button.
You will now see a settings page for Flat Rate where you can configure how it works. First, give your flat rate method a name so customers will know what they are being charged for when they see it at checkout.
Next, set the cost for this shipping method. This can be either a fixed price or a percentage of the order total. Finally, decide whether or not you want this method to be enabled by default and then click on th Save Changes button when you are done.
Adding flat rate shipping to your WooCommerce store is a great way to simplify your checkout process and make it easier for customers to know exactly how much they will be charged for postage.
