How do I add sub navigation in Squarespace?

Adding sub navigation to your Squarespace site can be a great way to make it easier for your visitors to find the information they are looking for. To add sub navigation, first head to your Squarespace site’s Settings page and under the “Design” section, click on the “Layout” button. From here, you’ll be able to choose between a standard site layout or a grid layout. In the grid layout, sub navigation is located at the bottom of the page, just below the footer. To add sub navigation to your site in the standard layout, click on the “Add a column” button and then select “Navigation” from the drop-down menu. Once you’ve added sub navigation, you’ll need to add each sub-section’s title and link.

PRO TIP: Sub navigation can be tricky to add in Squarespace. If you’re not careful, you may end up with a messy, cluttered website. Be sure to plan out your sub navigation before you start adding it in, and take care to only add what is absolutely necessary. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a website that’s difficult to use and navigate.

To do this, simply type the title of the sub-section in the “Title” field and then enter the link in the “Link” field. Finally, click on the “Save” button to save your changes. Once your sub navigation is added, you can test it out by clicking on the “View Site” button and then clicking on the “Sub Navigation” tab. Once you’ve added sub navigation, you can also change the layout of your sub-navigation by clicking on the “Layout” button and then choosing between a standard layout and a grid layout.
