How Do I Automatically Add Watermark in Photoshop?

Watermarks are generally used to protect intellectual property, but they can also be used to add a personal touch to your images. You can create a watermark in Photoshop that can be applied to multiple images or added to a single image. The process is fairly simple and only requires a few steps.

  1. Create a new layer in Photoshop. This will be your watermark layer.
  2. Choose the type tool from the toolbar and type out your watermark text. I like to use a white or light-colored font so that it’s visible but not too intrusive.
  3. Once you have typed out your text, go to Edit > Transform > Scale to scale the text down so it’s not too large.
  4. Change the opacity of the layer so it’s semi-transparent. I usually put mine at around 50%.
  5. Save your watermark as a PSD file so you can reuse it later.
  6. To apply your watermark to multiple images, open the images in Photoshop and drag the PSD file with your watermark into the document window.
  7. Change the opacity of your watermark layer as needed and position it where you want it on the image.
  8. When you’re happy with the placement of your watermark, select all the layers with your watermark (you can do this by Shift-clicking on each layer) and go to Edit > Auto-Align Layers.
  9. In the auto-align dialog box, choose “Auto” from the drop-down menu and click “OK”.
  10. This will align all of your watermark layers and you can now Save As… each image individually or save them all as a batch.

However, it is important to note that watermarks should only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes. Using a watermark for commercial purposes may infringe on the copyright of the original image.
