How Do I Block an UpWork Account?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:55 am

There are a few reasons why you might want to block an UpWork account. Maybe you’re getting too many requests from a certain client, or perhaps you’ve just had enough of freelancing altogether.

Whatever the reason, blocking an UpWork account is easy to do. Here’s how:

First, log into your UpWork account and go to your settings. In the left-hand menu, you’ll see an option for “Blocking.” Click on that.

On the next page, you’ll see a list of all the clients and freelancers you’ve blocked in the past. If you want to block someone new, click on the “Block new client or freelancer” button at the top of the page.

PRO TIP: If you are considering blocking your Upwork account, please be aware that this action is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is blocked, you will no longer have access to any of your account information, including your earnings history, portfolio, messages, and proposals.

A pop-up window will appear asking you to enter the name or email address of the person you want to block. Once you do that, click on the “Block” button.

Confirm that you want to block the person by clicking on the “Block” button in the next pop-up window. And that’s it! The person you’ve blocked will no longer be able to contact you through UpWork.
