How Do I Capture Emails From Squarespace?

When you create a Squarespace account, we automatically generate a unique email address for you. This address uses your account name and is followed by @Squarespace.com. For example, if your account name is johnsmith, your email address would be johnsmith@Squarespace.

If you want to use your own domain name with Squarespace, you can set up email forwarding so that any email sent to yourdomainname@Squarespace.com gets forwarded to an email address of your choice.

You can also capture emails sent to your Squarespace address and save them in a file on your computer. To do this, you’ll need to set up email forwarding from your Squarespace account to an email service that supports this feature, such as Gmail.

To set up email forwarding:

  1. Log in to your Squarespace site and go to Settings > Email & Domains.
  2. Click the Domain names tab.
  3. For the domain you want to use for email, click the manage link.
  4. In the Email Forwarding section, click Add Email Forwarding.
  5. In the Email field, enter the full email address where you want to forward messages sent to your Squarespace address.
  6. (Optional) In the Destination Folder field, enter a folder name where you want to save messages. This field is only available if you’re using Gmail or Google Apps.
  7. (Optional) To CC or BCC yourself on all forwarded messages, select the checkbox next to each option.
  8. Click Save.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to capture emails from Squarespace, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First, if you are not careful, you could end up capturing emails that you do not want or that are not relevant to your business. Second, you could also end up inadvertently capturing sensitive information such as passwords or credit card numbers. Finally, if you are not careful, you could end up in violation of Squarespace’s terms of service.
