You may want to change your domain name for a variety of reasons. Maybe you’re rebranding, or you want to move to a more memorable domain name. Whatever the reason, changing your domain name on Shopify is a relatively easy process.

In order to change your domain name, you will need to purchase a new domain from a domain registrar such as GoDaddy or Namecheap. Once you have purchased your new domain, you can then add it to your Shopify store.

PRO TIP: If you are considering changing your domain name on Shopify, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, changing your domain name will result in your shop being unavailable for a period of time while the DNS propagates. Secondly, if you have any email addresses associated with your current domain name, those will also need to be updated to reflect the new domain name. Finally, any links or references to your shop that exist on the internet will need to be updated to point to the new domain name.

To add your new domain to Shopify, go to the ‘Domains’ section of your Shopify admin and click ‘Add Domain’. From here, you can enter your new domain name and select which country you would like it to be associated with. Once you have added your new domain, you can then set it as the primary domain for your store.

Changing your domain name can be a great way to refresh your brand or make it more memorable for customers. By following the steps above, you can easily change your domain name on Shopify.
