How Do I Change My Experience Level in UpWork?

As a freelancer, one of the first things you need to do is decide what your experience level is. You can be a beginner, intermediate, or expert. But, how do you change your experience level in UpWork?

If you’re a beginner, it’s easy to change your experience level. Just go to your Profile and select the Edit button next to your name. Then, click on the Experience tab and select the appropriate radio button.

If you’re an intermediate or expert freelancer, you’ll need to provide some additional information about your skills and experience. To do this, go to your Profile and click on the About tab. Then, scroll down to the Work History section and click on the Add Work History button.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, changing your experience level in Upwork can have negative consequences. You may end up with fewer jobs, or you may find that your earnings decrease.

In the Add Work History popup window, select the UpWork job that best represents your skills and experience. Then, click on the Save button.

Once you’ve added your work history, you can go back to the Profile page and click on the Edit button next to your name. Then, click on the About tab and scroll down to the Work History section. Here, you can click on the pencil icon next to each job entry to edit it.

In the Edit Work History popup window, you can change your experience level by selecting the appropriate radio button under Experience Level. Once you’ve made your changes, click on the Save button.
