How Do I Change the Background Color of a Block in Squarespace?

There are many ways to change the background color of a block in Squarespace. One way is to use the Block Settings panel. To do this, first select the block you want to change the background color of. Then, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Block Settings panel.

This will open the Block Styles menu. In the Block Styles menu, you will see a section called “Background.” Here, you can use the color picker to select a new background color for your block.

Another way to change the background color of a block is to use CSS. Then, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Block Settings panel and select “Edit HTML/CSS.”

PRO TIP: Warning: This article is outdated. The current version of Squarespace does not allow you to change the background color of a block.

This will open the Code Editor. In the Code Editor, you will see a section called “CSS.” Here, you can add CSS code to change the background color of your block.

To change the background color of a block using CSS, you will need to use the CSS property called “background-color.” The value of this property can be any valid CSS color value. For example, you could use a hex code like “#000000” or an RGB value like “rgb(0,0,0).”

Once you have added the CSS code to change the background color of your block, be sure to click “Save” in the top-right corner of the Code Editor. Your changes will now be live on your site!
