If you’re using WooCommerce to sell products through your WordPress site, you may occasionally need to change the order ID number. This can be helpful if you’re trying to keep track of a specific order and need to quickly reference it by number.

You can also use this technique to change the order ID of multiple orders at once if you need to update your system for some reason. Here’s how to change the order ID in WooCommerce.

1. Log in to your WordPress site and go to WooCommerce > Orders. This will take you to the Orders page, where you’ll see a list of all the orders placed on your site.

2. Find the order that you want to change the ID for, and click on its ID number. This will take you to the Edit Order page for that specific order.

3. In the Order Details section, look for the “Order ID’ field.

You’ll see that it’s set to a number automatically generated by WooCommerce. To change it, simply delete the existing number and type in the new one that you want to use.

4. Once you’ve updated the Order ID, be sure to click Update at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

That’s all there is to it! Now you know how to easily change the Order ID in WooCommerce. This can be a helpful way to keep track of specific orders or update multiple orders at once.

PRO TIP: If you are considering changing the order ID in WooCommerce, be aware that this could have unintended consequences. Depending on how your WooCommerce installation is configured, changing the order ID could break links to existing orders, or cause other data inconsistencies. If you do decide to change the order ID, be sure to back up your data first and test the changes thoroughly before making them live.
