Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:07 pm

If you’re using WooCommerce to sell products on your WordPress site, you may need to change the quantity of items in a customer’s shopping cart. Fortunately, this is a relatively easy process. In this article, we’ll show you how to change the quantity of a cart in WooCommerce.

When a customer adds an item to their shopping cart in WooCommerce, the default setting is to have a quantity of 1 for that item. However, there may be times when you need to change the quantity of an item in a customer’s cart. For example, if a customer wants to purchase two of the same item, you’ll need to adjust the quantity accordingly.

There are two ways that you can change the quantity of a cart in WooCommerce. The first method is to do it from the WordPress admin panel. The second method is to use the WooCommerce REST API.

Method 1: Changing the Quantity from the WordPress Admin Panel

The first method for changing the quantity of a cart in WooCommerce is by going to the WordPress admin panel. To do this, simply log into your WordPress site and navigate to WooCommerce > Orders.

From here, you’ll see a list of all orders placed on your site. Find the order that you need to edit and click on it.

On the order page, you’ll see all of the details for that particular order. Scroll down to the Order Items section and find the item whose quantity you need to change. To the right of that item, you’ll see a Quantity field where you can enter the new quantity.

Once you’ve updated the quantity, be sure to click on the Update button at the bottom of the page. This will save your changes and update the order total accordingly.

Method 2: Changing the Quantity using the WooCommerce REST API

The second method for changing the quantity of a cart in WooCommerce is by using the WooCommerce REST API. This method requires that you have some knowledge of programming and web development. If you’re not comfortable with coding, we recommend sticking with Method 1.

PRO TIP: If you are changing the quantity of a cart item in WooCommerce, be sure to check the “update cart” button to ensure that the changes are saved. Otherwise, the cart will revert back to its original state.

To change the quantity of a cart using the WooCommerce REST API, you’ll first need to obtain an access token. You can do this by logging into your WordPress site and navigating to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.

From here, you’ll need to click on Add Key. Give your key a description and then select which user you want it to be associated with.
