How Do I Change the Selection Option in WooCommerce?

Have you ever wanted to change the selection option in WooCommerce? For example, if you have a product that comes in different sizes, you might want to offer customers the option to choose between “small,” “medium,” and “large” instead of the default “Add to Cart” button. Fortunately, this is relatively easy to do with a few simple steps.

First, log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to WooCommerce > Settings. From there, select the Products tab and then click on the Product Add-Ons link.

At the top of the Product Add-Ons page, you’ll see a section labeled “Product Add-Ons Availability. “ Here, you can choose which types of products will have add-ons available. By default, add-ons are available for both simple and variable products.

If you only want to offer add-ons for certain products, you can select the “Enable product add-ons globally” checkbox and then deselect the product types for which you don’t want add-ons to appear.

Once you’ve made your selection, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Save changes” button.

Now let’s take a look at how to actually create an add-on. Scroll back up to the top of the Product Add-Ons page and click on the “Add New Add-On Group” button.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell products or services online, you may want to change the selection option in the shopping cart. This can be done by going to the WooCommerce settings page and selecting the “Change Selection” tab.

However, before making any changes to the selection option, it is important to understand how this setting works. Otherwise, you may inadvertently change the way your products are displayed in the shopping cart, which could result in lost sales.

You’ll now be prompted to enter a name for your add-on group as well as some additional details.

The name is for your internal reference only and will not be visible to customers. The description field is optional but can be used to provide more information about the add-on group.

Once you’ve entered all of the necessary information, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Add New Add-On” button.


You’ll now be prompted to enter a name and price for your add-on. The name field is required and will be visible to customers. The price field is also required but can be left blank if you don’t want to charge for this particular add-on.


Once you’ve entered all of the necessary information, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Save changes” button.
