How Do I Charge an Event on Squarespace?

Last updated on December 13, 2022 @ 2:12 am

Whether you’re a seasoned event planner or hosting your first soiree, you want to make sure your event website is up to par. That includes collecting payments for tickets or reservations. If you’re using Squarespace to build your event website, you’re in luck – our platform makes it easy to start collecting payments. In this article, we’ll show you how to charge for an event on Squarespace.

First, you’ll need to create a new page on your Squarespace site and title it “Tickets” or something similar. Then, add a Blank Page template to this new page.

Once the Blank Page template has been added, you can start adding content to the page. Begin by adding a Heading.

This will be the name of your event. For example, if you were hosting a concert, you might title the Heading “John Smith Concert.”

After the Heading, add a Subheading. This is where you’ll give more information about the event, such as the date and location. For our concert example, the Subheading might say “June 10th at 8pm – Madison Square Garden.”

Now that visitors know when and where your event is taking place, it’s time to start selling tickets. To do this, add a Button Block. The Button Block allows you to add a button to your page that links to an external URL – in this case, a ticketing website like Eventbrite.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to charge an event on Squarespace, please be aware that there are some potential risks and problems that you may encounter.

First of all, it is important to note that Squarespace does not currently have a built-in feature for charging for events. This means that you will need to use a third-party payment processor in order to collect payments for your event. While there are many reputable and reliable payment processors out there, it is important to do your research to make sure that you choose one that will best meet your needs.

Additionally, it is important to be aware that using a third-party payment processor can sometimes result in additional fees being charged. Be sure to check with your chosen payment processor to find out what their fees are before you set up your event.

Finally, please be aware that while Squarespace does offer a lot of great features, it is not necessarily the best platform for every event. If you are unsure if Squarespace is right for your event, we recommend talking to a professional event planner or consultant to get their opinion.

In the Button Label field, type in “Buy Tickets.” Then, in the Link field, paste the URL of your ticketing page. You can also change the button color and alignment using the options in the Style tab.
