How Do I Clear the Cache in Photoshop CC?

If you’re anything like me, you use Adobe Photoshop religiously. I use it for everything from editing photos to creating graphics for my website.

And, like all programs, it can start to run slowly after awhile, especially if you have a lot of files open at once. One way to help speed up Photoshop (and all Adobe Creative Cloud programs) is to clear the cache. Here’s how:

1. Open Photoshop CC and go to Edit > Preferences > Performance

2. Under the “Memory Usage” section, change the “RAM Cache Size” to “0.”

3. Click “OK” to save your changes and exit the Preferences window.

4. Restart Photoshop.

And that’s it!

By clearing the cache, you’re essentially telling Photoshop to start fresh and not load any of the files or data from previous sessions. This can help speed up the program, especially if it’s been running slowly lately.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with the Photoshop CC program, it is recommended that you do not attempt to clear the cache. This can result in lost or corrupted data.
