How Do I Connect My Shopify to Zapier?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 3:45 am

If you’re using Shopify as your ecommerce platform, you might want to connect it to Zapier so you can automate some of your tasks. For example, you could set up a zap that would send you an email notification whenever a new order is placed on your Shopify store. Or, you could automatically add new Shopify customers to a mailing list.

In order to connect your Shopify account to Zapier, you’ll first need to generate a private app in Shopify. To do this, go to your Shopify admin page and click on “Apps.” Then, click on the “Manage private apps” link.

On the next page, give your private app a name and description. Then, under the “Admin API” section, select the “Orders, transactions and fulfillments” and “Customers” permissions. These permissions will allow Zapier to access data from your Shopify store.

Once you’ve created your private app, go to your Zapier account and click on the “Make a New Zap” button. Then, select Shopify as the trigger application and choose the trigger event that you want to use. For example, if you want to be notified of new orders, you would select the “New Order” trigger event.

Next, you’ll be asked to connect your Shopify account to Zapier. To do this, enter the URL of your shop (e.g. myshopifystore.com) and then enter the API key and password that you generated for your private app in Shopify.

Once your Shopify account is connected, you can finish setting up your zap and choose what action you want Zapier to take whenever the trigger event occurs. For example, you could have Zapier send you an email notification or add the customer’s information to a spreadsheet.
