How do I create a cPanel account in WHM HostGator?

CPanel accounts are a great way to administrate your WHM HostGator account from a centralized location. To create a cPanel account, follow these steps:

1. In the WHM HostGator main navigation bar, click Accounts.

2. On the Accounts page, click Add Account.

3. In the Add Account dialog box, enter your WHM HostGator account name and password.

4. Click Save.

5. On the Accounts page, under cPanel Accounts, click your newly created cPanel account.

6. Under cPanel Accounts Settings, in the General section, click the Password field, and enter your cPanel account password.

7. In the Authentication section, click the Login check box, and then enter your WHM HostGator login information.

8. Under cPanel Accounts Settings, in the General section, click the Hosting check box, and then enter your WHM HostGator hosting information.

9. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on File Uploads, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

10. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on File Downloads, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

11. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on Cron Jobs, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

12. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on Hyper-V Hosts, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

13. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on MySQL Databases, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

14. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on SNMP MIBs, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

15. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under Actions on Web Sites, click the Enable check box, and then click Save.

16. Click Close.

17. Under cPanel Accounts Settings, in the General section, click the Account Type field, and click the appropriate account type.

18. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under cPanel Accounts Access, under which accounts does this account have access to, click the check box next to the accounts you want to include, and then click Save.

19. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under cPanel Accounts Access, under which users does this account have access to, click the check box next to the users you want to include, and then click Save.

20. In the cPanel Accounts Settings window, under cPanel Accounts Access, under which files does this account have access to, click the check box next to the files you want to include, and then click Save.

21. Under cPanel Accounts Settings, in the General section, under cPanel Accounts Access, under which accounts does this account have access to, click the check box next to the accounts you want to include, and then click Save.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with cPanel or WHM, we do not recommend trying to create a cPanel account in WHM Hostgator. This could result in unintended consequences and could cause your website to malfunction.
