Adding custom fields to WooCommerce is a great way to add extra data to products and orders. For example, you could add a custom field for customer order notes, product SKUs, or anything else you need. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a custom field value in WooCommerce.

First, you’ll need to install and activate the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. For more information, see our guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Once the plugin is activated, click on Custom Fields in the left-hand menu of your WordPress dashboard. Then, click on the Add New button at the top of the page.

On the next screen, you’ll need to enter a few details about your custom field. First, give your field a label so you can easily identify it later.

PRO TIP: If you are not a developer, or are not comfortable working with code, we do not recommend trying to create a custom field value in WooCommerce. This can cause errors on your site if done incorrectly.

Next, select where you want this field to appear. You can choose whether it appears on the WooCommerce product page, order page, or both.

Now you’ll need to choose a field type. This will determine what kind of data your custom field will hold. For example, you could choose text, number, date, email address, or something else.

Once you’ve selected a field type, scroll down and click on the Save button to add your custom field to WooCommerce.

You can now add data to your custom field by editing a product or order in WooCommerce. Simply scroll down to the custom field section and enter the data you want to save. Don’t forget to click on the Update button to save your changes!

That’s all there is to adding custom fields in WooCommerce! By using this feature, you can easily add extra data to products and orders without having to write any code.
