A marquee is an HTML element that allows you to scroll text or an image across a web page. You can use a marquee to scroll text horizontally or vertically, or even create a scrolling image. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a marquee in Squarespace.

There are two ways to create a marquee in Squarespace: using the Marquee Block, or adding custom HTML code.

The Marquee Block is the easiest way to create a scrolling text or image on your Squarespace website. To add a Marquee Block:

1. Log into your Squarespace account and open the Editor. 2. Click the “+” icon, then select the Marquee Block from the list of Blocks. 3.

In the Content tab of the Block Settings panel, enter your text or upload an image. 4. In the Layout tab, you can choose whether to scroll your text horizontally or vertically. 5. Click Apply to save your changes.

PRO TIP: This article provides instruction on how to create a marquee in Squarespace, but does not offer any warnings about doing so. Readers should be aware that creating a marquee in Squarespace can be challenging, and may take some trial and error to get it right.

Alternatively, you can add custom HTML code to create a marquee. This method is more advanced, and we recommend only proceeding if you’re comfortable working with code. To add custom HTML code:

1. Click the “+” icon and select Code from the list of Blocks.

3. Paste your custom HTML code into the Code Block. If you’re adding a scrolling text Marquee, we recommend using this code: Your text goes here
4.

Creating a marquee in Squarespace is easy, whether you use the Marquee Block or custom HTML code. With either method, you can add scrolling text or images to your website in just a few minutes.
