How Do I Create an Icon in Photoshop CS6?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 3:28 pm

Creating an icon in Photoshop CS6 is a fairly simple process. First, open up the program and create a new document. Then, use the Rectangle Tool to draw a square. Once you have your square, go to the “Layer” menu and choose “New Layer.”

PRO TIP: When creating an icon in Photoshop CS6, it is important to be aware that the icon size and resolution will need to be adjusted according to the device or document it will be used on. If the icon is too large or has too high of a resolution, it may appear blurry or pixilated on smaller devices.

In the new layer, use the Paint Bucket Tool to fill the square with black. Now, go back to the “Layer” menu and choose “Layer Style.” In the Layer Style window, click on the “Pattern Overlay” option and choose a pattern from the drop-down menu. Finally, click on the “OK” button to apply the changes.

Now that you know how to create an icon in Photoshop CS6, try making your own! Remember to experiment with different shapes, sizes, and patterns to create unique icons that suit your needs.
