How Do I Cut Out an Image in Photoshop Express?

Last updated on February 28, 2023 @ 9:57 am

In this tutorial, we’re going to learn how to cut out an image. However, the application that we will be using is Adobe Photoshop CC and not Photoshop Express. We’ll be using the Lasso tool to make a selection around the image, and then we’ll use the Eraser tool to remove the background. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open your image in Photoshop Express. Select the Lasso Tool from the toolbar on the left.

Step 2: Use the Lasso tool to trace around the image you want to cut out. Try to be as accurate as possible.

NOTE: You may need to zoom in and out to get a better view.

Step 3: Once you’ve made your selection, go to the Layers window and select the Layer Mask tool icon.

Step 4: The Layer Mask tool will then remove the background from around the image.

NOTE: You can also see in the Layers section that a Layer Mask is linked to your layer.

Step 5: When you’re happy with the result, go to File > Export > Export As and save your image as a .png or .jpg file.

Conclusion:

That’s it! You’ve now learned how to cut out an image in Photoshop CC.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, cutting out an image in Photoshop Express can result in a loss of quality. Make sure to use the highest resolution possible and be very precise when making your cuts.
