Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 9:30 pm

There are many ways to distort text in Photoshop, but one of the most common and versatile methods is to use the Liquify filter. This filter can be used to push, pull, rotate, reflect, stretch, and bloat your text, giving you a wide range of options for customizing your text.

To use the Liquify filter, first select your text layer in the Layers panel. Then, go to Filter > Liquify.

PRO TIP: The following article, ‘How Do I Distort in Photoshop?’ provides instructions on how to use the Photoshop software to distort images. It is important to be aware that when using Photoshop to distort images, there is a risk of causing permanent damage to the image file.

In the Liquify window, you’ll see a number of different tools that you can use to distort your text. The Forward Warp tool is typically the most useful for distorting text, but feel free to experiment with all of the different tools to see what kinds of effects you can create.

Once you’re happy with your text distortion, simply click OK to apply the changes and close the Liquify window. Your text will now be distorted according to your specifications!
