How Do I Download Components in Figma?

Last updated on December 1, 2022 @ 1:06 pm

When you download a component in Figma, you are essentially downloading a file that contains all of the data for that component. This includes the component’s design, its code, and any other assets that it may need.

To download a component, simply click on the “Download” button located in the top-right corner of the component’s preview window.

Once you have clicked the “Download” button, a pop-up window will appear asking you where you would like to save the file. Choose a location on your computer and click “Save”.

Once the file has been downloaded, you can then open it in your preferred text editor and begin editing it to your liking. To style text in HTML using < p >,< b > and < u > tags, simply enclose the text that you want to style within the appropriate tags. For example, to make some text bold, you would enclose it within < b > tags like so:

This text is bold

You can also use < u > tags to underline text or

tags to add paragraph breaks. Experiment with different combinations of tags to create the perfect look for your website or blog!

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, it is possible to download components in Figma that you do not need or want. This can lead to a cluttered workspace and can make it difficult to find the components you actually need. When downloading components, be sure to only download those that you know you will use.
