In Photoshop CS6, there are a few different ways to draw a line. One of the most basic methods is to use the Line Tool, which can be found in the toolbar on the left side of the screen.

  1. Select the Line Tool from the toolbar.
  2. Click on the starting point of the line on your image.
  3. Drag the cursor to the end point of the line.
  4. Release the cursor.

Alternatively, you can use the Pen Tool to create more precise lines. The Pen Tool can be found in the same toolbar as the Line Tool.

  1. Select the Pen Tool from the toolbar.
  2. Click on the starting point of the line on your image.
  3. Click on the endpoint of the line.
  4. Drag the cursor to create a smooth curve.

You can adjust the thickness and color of the line by using the options in the top toolbar. You can also select “Paths” mode to create a path that can be edited later.

Additionally, you can use the Brush Tool, by selecting the brush tool and drawing with the cursor.

In all these methods, you can use the layers palette to make sure that you are drawing on the right layer, and you can also use the history palette to undo any mistakes.

PRO TIP: When working with layers in Photoshop, make sure to use the “Layer Mask” feature to hide or reveal parts of a layer instead of erasing or deleting them. This will allow you to make adjustments and changes to your image without permanently altering the original data, giving you more flexibility and control over your work.
