There are a few different ways that you can duplicate an image in Photoshop. One way is to use the ‘Duplicate Layer’ function.

Go to the ‘Layer’ menu and select ‘Duplicate Layer’. A new layer will be created that is an exact copy of the layer you have selected. You can then move this layer around or make changes to it without affecting the original layer.

Another way to duplicate an image is to use the ‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ commands. Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and select ‘Copy’.

Then go to the ‘Edit’ menu and select ‘Paste’. This will create a new layer with the same contents as the layer you copied.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to duplicate an image multiple times in Photoshop, be aware that this process can be time-consuming. Each copy of the image will need to be edited individually, so it is important to have a clear idea of what you want the final product to look like before you begin. Otherwise, you may end up spending hours in Photoshop and not achieving the results you wanted.

If you want to duplicate an entire image, go to the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Duplicate’. A dialog box will appear where you can enter a new name for the duplicated image. This will create a copy of the entire image in a new document.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts to duplicate layers. To do this, go to the ‘Layer’ menu and select ‘New Layer’. A dialog box will appear asking you how you want to name the new layer.

Type in the name you want and then click on the ‘OK’ button. Now hold down the ‘Alt’ key (Windows) or the ‘Option’ key (Mac) and click on the ‘New Layer’ icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. This will create a copy of the currently active layer.”

There are many reasons why you might want to duplicate an image in Photoshop. Maybe you want to create a collage or montage, or perhaps you want to make some changes to one version of an image without affecting the original.

Whatever your reasons, there are several different ways that you can duplicate an image in Photoshop, as described above. So get out there and start experimenting!
