How Do I Edit My Wix Account?

Last updated on January 9, 2023 @ 2:47 pm

When you first create a Wix account, you are given a generic Wix.com URL. This is the URL that you will use to access your Wix account and to build and manage your website.

You can change your Wix URL at any time by upgrading to a premium plan or by purchasing a custom domain through Wix. If you have a premium plan, you can also use your own domain name with your Wix account.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

To change your Wix URL:

  1. Log in to your Wix account.
  2. Click the My Sites tab.
  3. Click Manage Site.
  4. Click Connect Domain.
  5. Click the radio button next to I want to connect my own domain.
  6. Enter your domain name in the box provided and click Continue.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish connecting your domain.

Once you have upgraded to a premium plan or connected a custom domain, you can use the Domain Manager. To access the Domain Manager:

  1. Log in to your Wix account.
  2. Click the My Sites tab.
  3. Click Manage Site.
  4. Click Connect Domain under the Domains tab on the left side of the screen. (If you do not see this option, it means that you do not have a premium plan or a connected custom domain. )
  5. Click Domain Settings next to your domain name.

You will be taken to the Domain Manager where you can make changes to your DNS settings, add subdomains, redirect your domain, and more.

For more information about using the Domain Manager, see Wix Domains FAQ.

PRO TIP: If you are considering editing your Wix account, please be aware that this could potentially delete all of the content on your account. Please backup any important data before proceeding. Additionally, please be sure that you understand how to properly edit your account so that you do not accidentally delete anything.
