How Do I Edit the Category Page in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:10 pm

When it comes to setting up and managing a WooCommerce store, there are a few different ways to edit the category pages. This can be done through the WordPress admin panel, using a plugin or two, or by making some changes to the code itself.

If you’re not comfortable working with code, then the best way to edit your WooCommerce category pages is through the WordPress admin panel. Simply go to WooCommerce > Categories, and then click on the category you want to edit.

From here, you can change the name, slug, description, and image.

If you’re looking for more control over your category pages, then you’ll need to use a plugin or two. For example, the WooCommerce Category Pages plugin lets you add custom fields to your categories, as well as control how they’re displayed on the front-end of your store.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with WooCommerce or comfortable working with code, we recommend that you hire a developer to help you with this. Editing the category page in WooCommerce can be tricky, and if done incorrectly, it could break your site.

Alternatively, if you’re comfortable working with code, then you can edit your WooCommerce category pages directly. Simply go to Appearance > Editor, and then find the "category.php" file.

From here, you can make whatever changes you want to the code itself. Just be sure to save your changes before exiting out of the editor.

How Do I Edit The Category Page In WooCommerce?

As WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress, editing the category page is done either through the WordPress admin panel or by making changes directly to the code in Appearance > Editor. If you’re not comfortable working with code, then we recommend using the WordPress admin panel. For more control over your category pages, consider using a plugin like WooCommerce Category Pages.
