How Do I Embed a PDF Into Canva?

Last updated on December 8, 2022 @ 6:15 am

There are many reasons you might want to add a PDF to your Canva design. Maybe you’re creating a collage of images and want to include a PDF document, or perhaps you’re wanting to add an ebook cover to your design. Whatever the reason, here’s a quick and easy guide on how to embed a PDF into Canva.

Firstly, open up Canva and sign in or create an account. Then, click on the “Create a design” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

Next, select the “Uploads” tab from the left-hand side menu and click on the “Upload your own images” button. Find the PDF you wish to upload in your files and select it. Once it’s uploaded, drag and drop it into your design.

PRO TIP: The following note is a warning to anyone considering embedding a PDF into Canva. While this may seem like a quick and easy way to insert a PDF into your Canva design, there are some serious drawbacks to doing so.

First and foremost, PDFs are not designed for use in Canva (or any other design program). As such, they can often cause design problems and can be difficult to work with. Additionally, when you embed a PDF into Canva, it is not automatically updated if the original PDF changes. This means that if you make any changes to the PDF after embedding it into Canva, you will need to manually update the embedded version as well.

Because of these issues, we strongly recommend against embedding PDFs into Canva designs. If you need to insert a PDF into your design, we recommend using an image file instead.

To style text in HTML using < p >, < b > and < u > tags where applicable: simply enclose the text you wish to style within the corresponding tags. For example, if you want to make some text bold, you would enclose it within < b > tags.
Similarly, if you want to underline some text, you would enclose it within < u > tags. You can also use < p > tags to create paragraphs of text.
