How Do I Enable Animation in Photoshop?

Last updated on January 26, 2023 @ 9:51 am

Animation in Photoshop is a way of adding movement to static images or graphics. By using a frame-by-frame animation technique, you can bring your images to life!

Enabling animation in Photoshop is easy! Simply open your project file, go to the ‘Window’ menu and select ‘Timeline’. This will open up the Timeline panel where you can control the frame rate, number of frames and other animation settings.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, enabling animation in Photoshop can lead to some unexpected results. For example, you may inadvertently create an infinite loop that will keep playing forever. Additionally, your computer’s performance may suffer if you have a lot of layers and/or frames in your animation.

Once you have the Timeline panel open, click on the ‘Create Frame Animation’ button. This will create a new layer in your project file which you can name and add your images to. To add an image to a frame, simply drag and drop it from your project file into the frame.

You can control the order of the frames by clicking on them and dragging them around in the Timeline. To preview your animation, click on the ‘Play’ button in the Timeline panel.

Conclusion:
