How Do I Enable API in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 11:43 pm

If you’re running a WooCommerce store, there’s a good chance you’ll need to use the WooCommerce API at some point. API stands for “Application Programming Interface”, and it allows developers to interact with WooCommerce in a programmatic way.

In order to use the WooCommerce API, you’ll need to enable it on your site. Here’s how:

Log into your WordPress site and go to WooCommerce > Settings. Click on the “Advanced” tab, then click on “REST API.” You’ll be taken to the REST API settings page.

On the REST API settings page, you’ll need to select the “Enable the WooCommerce REST API” checkbox. Once you’ve done that, click on the “Save changes” button at the bottom of the page.

PRO TIP: If you are not a developer, or are not comfortable working with code, do not attempt to enable the API in WooCommerce. Doing so could break your site.

Now that the WooCommerce REST API is enabled, you’re ready to start using it. If you’re not a developer, you can hire a developer to help you get started with using the WooCommerce API.
