How Do I Enable Apple Pay in Stripe WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 11:44 pm

Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. that lets users make payments in person, in iOS apps, and on the web. It was designed to move consumers away from using physical credit cards by providing an easy and secure way to pay using their iPhone or Apple Watch.

PRO TIP: If you are using the Stripe WooCommerce plugin to take payments on your WordPress site, you may be wondering how to enable Apple Pay. Unfortunately, at this time the Stripe WooCommerce plugin does not support Apple Pay. This means that if you have a customer who tries to pay with Apple Pay, their payment will be declined.

We recommend that you reach out to the Stripe WooCommerce plugin developers and let them know that you would like to see Apple Pay support added in a future update. In the meantime, you may want to consider using another payment gateway that does support Apple Pay, such as Braintree or Square.

In order to use Apple Pay with Stripe, you will need to have a Stripe account and be using WooCommerce 3.0 or higher. Once you have those set up, you can follow these steps to enable Apple Pay:

  1. Log into your Stripe Dashboard
  2. Click on “Settings” in the left sidebar menu
  3. Scroll down to the “Apple Pay” section and click on “Edit Settings”
  4. Check the “Enable Apple Pay” box
  5. Click on “Save Settings”

That’s it! Once you’ve completed these steps, your customers will be able to use Apple Pay when checking out on your WooCommerce store.
