How Do I Enable Automated Tax Calculations in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:25 pm

If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you know that taxes can be a bit of a headache. There are so many different rates and rules to keep track of, not to mention keeping up with the ever-changing laws.

Fortunately, WooCommerce makes it easy to automate your tax calculations with the built-in tax settings. In this article, we’ll show you how to enable automated tax calculations in WooCommerce.

First, log into your WooCommerce store and go to the Settings page. From there, click on the Taxes tab and then select the Standard Rates option.

PRO TIP: If you are not comfortable with WooCommerce’s automated tax calculations, or if your business is not set up to handle taxes, we recommend that you do not enable this feature. Doing so could result in inaccurate tax calculations, which could lead to problems with your customers or with the government.

On the next page, you’ll see a list of all the countries where WooCommerce supports tax calculations. For each country, you can specify the standard tax rate and whether or not you want to charge shipping taxes.

When you’ve finished setting up your tax rates, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Save Changes button.

Now that you’ve enabled automated tax calculations in WooCommerce, your store will handle all the complex tax calculations for you. This will free up your time so that you can focus on running your business and providing excellent customer service.
