How Do I Enable Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:32 pm

Camera Raw is a Photoshop plugin that enables you to open and edit raw image files. Raw files are usually generated by high-end digital cameras and contain all of the data captured by the camera’s sensor.

Editing raw files gives you more control over the final image than editing JPEG or TIFF files because you can adjust the white balance, exposure, shadows, and highlights before converting the file to a JPEG or TIFF.

PRO TIP: Camera Raw is not compatible with Photoshop CS6. Attempting to enable Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6 may cause unexpected errors or crashes.

To enable Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6, first open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw. Next, click on the Enable button under the Camera Raw Preferences section. Finally, restart Photoshop for the changes to take effect.

Enabling Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6 is a simple process that only takes a few seconds. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to open and edit raw image files with greater control over the final product.
