Are you looking to move your Shopify store to another platform? Perhaps you’re considering BigCommerce or WooCommerce. Or maybe you’re just trying to take a snapshot of your Shopify data for safekeeping.

Whatever the reason, exporting data from Shopify is easy to do. In this article, we’ll show you how to export a CSV file from Shopify.

There are two ways to export data from Shopify: using the Export tool in your shop’s admin, or using a third-party app. We’ll cover both methods so that you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Method 1: Use the Export Tool in Your Shop’s Admin

The first method is to use the Export tool in your shop’s admin. To do this, go to Products > All products. Then, click on the Export button near the top of the page.

This will open up the Export page, where you can choose which type of file you want to export (CSV, XML, or JSON), and which data you want to include in the export.

PRO TIP: When exporting a CSV file from Shopify, be aware that:

-The file may not be compatible with all software programs.
-The file may not be in the correct format for the specific software program you are using.
-The file may not contain all of the data you need.

Once you’ve made your selections, click on the Export products button and your file will start downloading.

Method 2: Use a Third-Party App

The second method is to use a third-party app from the Shopify App Store. There are many different apps available, so we recommend doing a bit of research to find one that suits your needs.
For our purposes, we’ll be using an app called CSV Export. This app is free and easy to use.

After installing the app, go to Products>CSV Export (or whatever name you gave the app)>Export Products.. You’ll be taken to a page where you can select which type of file you want to export (CSV, XML, or JSON), and which data you want to include in the export.

Once you’ve made your selections, click on the Start Export button and your file will start downloading.
