How do I export my Joomla site from localhost?

If you want to export your Joomla site from its current localhost location, you will first need to create a directory on your computer where you will store the exported files. Next, you will need to obtain and install the Joomla Export plugin.

Once the plugin is installed, you can access it from the Plugins menu in your Joomla site’s administrative area. (If you are not able to find the Export plugin in the Plugins menu, you may need to upgrade your Joomla site to the latest version.).

Once you have access to the Export plugin, you will need to select a destination for the exported files. You can either export the entire site to a directory on your computer, or you can export specific pages or sections of the site.

PRO TIP: Backing up and moving a Joomla site from one server to another is a relatively simple process. However, it’s important to remember a few things in order to avoid problems:

-Make sure you have full backups of both your Joomla files and database.
-Do not forget to update your configuration.php file with the new database details.
-If you are moving to a new domain, remember to update your configuration.php file with the new domain name.
-Clear your browser’s cache before accessing the site on the new server.

To export the site as a whole, click on the Export Site button, and then enter the name of the directory where you want the exported files to be stored. To export a specific page or section of the site, click on the Page or Section button, and then enter the name of the page or section you want to export.

Once you have selected the pages or sections you want to export, click on the Export button. The Export plugin will then generate a series of files that you can download to your computer.

Once you have downloaded the files, you will need to copy the files to the directory you created on your computer for the exported site. You can then delete the files from the directory on your localhost server.
