If you’re a Canva user, you probably know how useful the Favorites feature is. With Favorites, you can save designs that you like so that you can easily find and use them again later.

But what if you can’t remember where you saved a particular design? Or what if you want to find all of the designs that you’ve added as a favorite? In this article, we’ll show you how to find your favorites on Canva.

Let’s dive right in.

A short overview of Canva as a design software

As its name suggests, Canva is a graphic design app that anyone without professional design training may use in their web browser.

Canva is a web-based design platform that provides a wide variety of premade layouts for a variety of graphic types (including social network images, banners, bookmarks, and more) and allows users to modify these layouts to suit their individual needs easily. Canva is an online tool that provides a plethora of design options for a monthly fee or as a one-time free account.

Since I’ve been using Canva for both personal and commercial projects for about five years now, I’ve never paid for an account or any of the features, even though some of their content is only available at the paid or premium level. I’m going to show you how to build some really nice bookmarks without having to spend any money on design work today.

Saving as favorites: how to have an effective way to keep your files organized

Keep your files organized and neat or be prepared for a limited number of eventualities. The answer is straightforward: just get your files in order. Your vital designs can be easily organized with a little bit of effort, attention, and dedication.

The first step is naming the files correctly.

If you want to make it simpler to find a specific file, nothing beats giving it a descriptive name. However, making use of file folders can offer an extra layer of the organization by allowing you to put related files together. There is no rule saying that you have to organize your files by year or by topic. The conclusion can be reached more quickly if you first consider how you will look for your files and only then create a category list.

Create descriptive yet succinct names for each folder. Names like “Miscellaneous” or “General” can lead to confusion and make finding a specific file a chore. However, names like Christmas designs, Valentines, Background designs, helps you locate your designs faster.

Arrange the designs in their respective folders.

Do you need it for the poster presentation? Thesis or perhaps for your social media updates?

The following step, after making the categories, is to sort the files into the appropriate directories. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to easily move your files to their respective folders from a central location on your system, as long as you follow certain fundamental organizational rules.

However, you may need to exercise greater caution if your data is dispersed over multiple locations (both online and offline). During this process of analysis, you will need to make some crucial choices about which files are crucial and which can be discarded. You can upload files directly from your computer, or you can copy them from your local disks and folders into the appropriate cloud storage locations.

Tagged your favorite Canva designs with specific keywords for faster retrieval.

You can see the Author, Last Modified Date, Size, and other metadata about each file by selecting the File > Properties menu item. However, by giving each file its own distinct tag, you can increase the value of the file’s properties. Tags are often the most useful of the various attributes associated with your files.

Tags with certain terms or phrases can facilitate a file search. You can organize your files however you like, including grouping similar ones together under the same category for quick access.

3 Reasons why you should develop adding Canva designs as favorites

You should aim for these three major outcomes with your document management system:

You don’t want your filing system to be a complex, multilevel labyrinth.

You want the saving process to be quick and painless so as to minimize system-wide disruptions.

Find what you’re looking for quickly and easily.

Your system should make it simple to navigate to the specific directory or file you’re trying to access.

As much as feasible, you should make use of reusable templates and naming conventions in order to save time and effort later on, which will help you achieve the first two goals.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great platform for creating beautiful designs, but finding your favorites can be a bit tricky. Here are a few tips to help you out:

1. Make sure you’re logged in to your account.

2. Click on the “Designs” tab at the top of the page.

3. Select “All Designs” from the drop-down menu.

4. Scroll through the designs until you find ones that you like.

5. Click on the star icon next to each design to add it to your favorites. All your starred designs can be designated into a single folder for easy access and retrieval.

Conclusion

As you can see, finding your favorites on Canva is a breeze! Just head over to the “Favorites” tab in the left sidebar and start browsing through your saved designs.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, try using the search bar or filtering your results by type, date, favorited, or color. And that’s all there is to it!

You are now familiar with the process of adding items to your Canva favorites and with the method of accessing them from virtually any location within the app. Cheers to that!
