If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you’re going to need to accept payments through PayPal at some point. In order to do that, you’ll need to generate API credentials for your WooCommerce site. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do that:
1. Log in to your PayPal account and go to the My Account tab.
2. From there, click on the Profile subtab and then select My Selling Tools.
3. On the next page, scroll down until you see the API Access section and click on the Update link.
4. On the following page, under NVP/SOAP API integration (Classic), click on the View API Signature link.
5. On the next page, under Option 2: Grant API permission, select the Grant API Permission button.
6. On the following page, under Third Party Permissions, enter in the following information for your WooCommerce site:
- Application Name: Enter in a name for your site (e.g., “WooCommerce Site”).
- Application Description:
- (Company Name):
- (Website URL):
7. And then click on the “Lookup” button.
8. Select your WooCommerce site from the resulting list and click on the “Select” button.
9. On the following page, under “API Username, Password, and Signature” , copy down your “API Username”, “API Password”, and “Signature”
10. These will be your PayPal API credentials for your WooCommerce site.
That’s it! You’ve now generated your PayPal API credentials for your WooCommerce site.
There are a few different ways to do this, but the most straightforward way is to log into your PayPal account and navigate to the “My Selling Tools” page. From there, you will need to scroll down to the “API Access” section and click on the “Update” link.
On the next page, you will need to select the “Request API Credentials” option and then click on the “Agree and Submit” button.
You will then be taken to a page where you can generate your API Username, Password, and Signature. Be sure to copy these down somewhere safe as you will need them later.
