If you’re a web designer, you’ve probably heard of Figma. It’s a vector drawing and animation software that’s become popular in recent years for its user-friendly interface and collaborative features. One of the best things about Figma is that it’s free to use!
So, how do you get started with Figma? The first thing you need to do is create a free account at figma.com. Once you’ve done that, you can start creating your first project.
To create a new project, click on the “+” icon in the top left corner of the screen. This will open up a new window where you can choose what type of project you want to create. For this tutorial, we’ll be choosing the “Design System” template.
Once you’ve selected the template, give your project a name and click “Create”. This will take you to the main editor screen for your new project.
The first thing you need to do is add some frames to your project. Frames are like pages in a website, and they’re where you’ll put your design elements. To add a frame, click on the “+” icon in the left sidebar and select “Frame” from the menu that appears.
Once you’ve added a frame, you can start adding elements to it. To do this, click on the “Elements” tab in the left sidebar and then select the type of element you want to add from the menu that appears. For this tutorial, we’ll be adding a rectangle.
To add a rectangle, simply click and drag your mouse on the canvas to create it. You can then use the “Fill” and “Stroke” options in the right sidebar to change its color or add a border.
Once you’re happy with your rectangle, you can save your work by clicking on the “File” menu in the top toolbar and selecting “Save”.
