How Do I Import a Product Variation in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:32 am

Product variations in WooCommerce are a great way to offer products that come in different sizes, colors, or variations. If you have a product that comes in multiple sizes, colors, or variations, you can add those to your WooCommerce store using product variations.

There are two ways to add product variations in WooCommerce. The first way is to add them manually, and the second way is to import them from a CSV file.

Adding Product Variations Manually

To add product variations manually, first go to the Products page and click on the product you want to add variations to. Then, click on the “Attributes” tab and select “Add New Attribute”.

Enter the name of your attribute (for example, “Size” or “Color”), select “Variable” from the dropdown menu, and click “Add Attribute”.

You will then see a list of all the attributes you’ve created.

To add values for your attribute (for example, “Small”, “Medium”, or “Large” for Size), click on “Add New Value”.

Enter the value of your attribute and click “Add Value”. Repeat this step for each value you want to add.

Once you’ve added all the values for your attribute, scroll down and click on the “Save Attributes” button.

Importing Product Variations from a CSV File

If you have a lot of product variations, it may be easier to import them from a CSV file. To do this, go to the Products page and click on the “Import” button.

On the next page, select “CSV” from the dropdown menu and click on the “Upload file and import” button.

On the following page, select the CSV file you want to upload from your computer and click on the “Upload file and continue” button.

IMPORTANT!

Make sure that your CSV file is formatted correctly before uploading it. The first row of your CSV file should be column headers (for example, Size, Color, Price), and each subsequent row should be a product variation with its corresponding values (for example, Small, Blue, $10). If your CSV file is not formatted correctly, it will not be imported correctly.

Conclusion

Product variations are a great way to offer products that come in different sizes, colors, or variations. If you have a product that comes in multiple sizes, colors
