Last updated on December 1, 2022 @ 2:26 pm

Figma is a vector-based design tool that is gaining popularity in the design industry. One of the reasons for its popularity is its ease of use; even people with no prior design experience can create beautiful designs using Figma.

Another reason is its wide range of features, one of which is the ability to import templates. In this article, we will show you how to import a template into Figma.

The first thing you need to do is go to the Figma website and create an account. Once you have done this, log in and click on the “Create New File” button. This will take you to a page where you can choose what kind of file you want to create.

For this tutorial, we will be using the “Design System” template, so select that option and click on the “Create” button. This will take you to the Figma editor.

Now that you are in the Figma editor, the next thing you need to do is click on the “File” menu and then select “Import”.

PRO TIP: When importing a template into Figma, be sure to check the file format compatibility. Some template files may not be compatible with Figma. If you’re not sure, ask the template creator or check Figma’s website for more information.

This will open up a dialog box where you can select the file that you want to import. For this tutorial, we will be using a free template from InVision called “Hangry”.

You can download this template here. Once you have downloaded the file, select it and click on the “Open” button.

This will add the template to your Figma file as a new layer. You can now edit this template however you like; add your own colors, logos, text, etc.
