How Do I Import to Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:37 pm

If you’re anything like me, you probably spend a lot of time in Figma. And if you’re anything like me, you probably also spend a lot of time thinking about ways to make your Figma workflow more efficient.

One way to do that is to import files into Figma from other sources. In this article, I’m going to show you how to do that.

First, open the file that you want to import into Figma. Then, click on the File menu and select the Import option.

In the Import dialog box, select the file that you want to import and click the Open button.

PRO TIP: We strongly recommend that you do not attempt to import to Figma as this can lead to data loss or corruption. If you absolutely must import to Figma, please make sure that you have a backup of your data first.

The file will be imported into Figma and will appear in the file list on the left-hand side of the screen.

Now that the file is imported, you can double-click on it to open it in the editor. You can also click on the pencil icon to edit the file in the editor.

Once you’re done editing, be sure to save your changes by clicking on the File menu and selecting the Save option.

That’s all there is to importing files into Figma! By following these steps, you can easily bring over files from other sources and start working on them in Figma.
