How Do I Install Plugins in Photoshop CS6?

If you’re using Photoshop CS6, there’s a good chance you’ll want to install some plugins at some point. Here’s a quick guide on how to do just that:

First, you’ll need to find the plugin file that you want to install. If you’ve downloaded it from the internet, it will likely be in a ZIP file. Once you’ve located the file, unzip it so that the plugin file is accessible.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop CS6, or do not feel comfortable installing plugins, it is recommended that you seek out assistance from a friend or professional. Improperly installing plugins can cause problems with Photoshop CS6, and may even render the program unusable.

Next, open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Plug-Ins. From here, click on the “Browse” button and locate the plugin file that you unzipped earlier. Once you’ve selected the file, click “OK” to install the plugin.

That’s all there is to it! Now when you open Photoshop, the plugin should be ready to use.

Installing plugins in Photoshop CS6 is quick and easy. Just follow the steps above and you’ll have your plugins up and running in no time.
