How Do I Join a Path in Figma?

Paths are a great way to add some visual interest to your designs, and they can be used to create all sorts of shapes and letters. In Figma, you can create a path by drawing a line with the Pen tool or the Vector tool.

You can also convert any existing shape into a path.

To create a path:

  1. Select the Pen tool or the Vector tool from the toolbar.
  2. Click where you want to start drawing your path.
  3. Click and drag to add anchor points and curves.
  4. Click where you want to end your path.

To convert an existing shape into a path:

  1. Select the shape you want to convert.
  2. Click the Convert button in the toolbar.
  3. Right-click on the shape and select Convert to Path from the menu that appears.

Paths can be edited just like any other vector object in Figma. To edit a path:

  1. Select the Path Selection tool from the toolbar.
  2. Click on the path you want to edit.
  3. Click and drag anchor points or curves to modify the shape of the path.
  4. Use the Pen tool or Vector tool to add new anchor points or curves.
PRO TIP: If you are planning on joining a path in Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First and foremost, when you join two paths together, the new path will inherit the properties of both of the paths that you joined. This means that if one of the paths was not properly aligned, the new path may also be misaligned. Additionally, if one of the paths was not properly closed, the new path may also be open. Finally, when you join two paths together, any strokes or fills that were applied to either of the original paths will be lost.
