How Do I Know Which Version of WooCommerce I Have?

When you are running a WooCommerce store, it is important to keep track of which version of WooCommerce you are using. There are two ways to do this:

1) Look in the “WooCommerce” tab in your WordPress admin.

The version number is displayed at the top right of the screen.

2) Look in your WooCommerce “System Status” report.

Go to WooCommerce > System Status. At the top of the page, under the “Server environment” section, you will see the WooCommerce version.

3) Check your “WooCommerce” database table.

If you have access to your database (for example, if you are using phpMyAdmin), you can check the “wc_options” table. In the “option_name” column, look for an entry that starts with “_transient_update_plugins”:

PRO TIP: If you are unsure of which version of WooCommerce you have, we recommend that you contact your hosting provider or site administrator for assistance. Updating your WooCommerce version can be done through the WordPress Dashboard, and instructions can be found here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installing-uninstalling-woocommerce/. Please note that it is important to backup your site before updating any plugins or themes, as updates can sometimes break things.

4) Compare file dates and versions.

If you have access to your server via FTP, or if you have downloaded a copy of WooCommerce from WordPress.org, you can check the file dates and versions to see if they match what is displayed in your WordPress admin. The main WooCommerce plugin file is called “WooCommerce.php”.

The easiest way to determine which version of WooCommerce you are running is to look in the “WooCommerce” tab in your WordPress admin. The version number is displayed at the top right of the screen.

You can also look in your WooCommerce “System Status” report. Go to WooCommerce > System Status and look for the WooCommerce version under the “Server environment” section at the top of the page.
