How Do I Make a Wood Floor in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 2:50 pm

Although it may seem like a daunting task, making a wood floor in Photoshop is actually quite simple!

First, create a new layer in your image. Then, using the Rectangle Marquee Tool, draw a rectangle that covers the entire layer. Next, fill this selection with a brown color of your choice.

PRO TIP: This article offers a very basic overview of how to create a wood floor in Photoshop. It is important to note that this is not a tutorial on how to create a realistic wood floor, but rather a guide on how to create a basic wood floor using Photoshop’s built-in tools and filters.

Now you need to add some grain to the wood floor. Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise.

In the Add Noise dialog box, set the Amount to around 10% and make sure the Distribution is set to Gaussian and the Monochromatic box is ticked. Click OK.

To finish off the wood floor effect, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply a small amount of blur to the layer.

There you have it! Your very own wood floor, created entirely in Photoshop.
