Making an image have a transparent background in Photoshop is a simple process that can be done in a few steps. First, open the image in Photoshop that you want to make transparent. Then, go to the “Layer” menu at the top of the screen and select “New Layer.” A new layer will appear above the background layer in the Layers palette. Next, select the “Eraser” tool from the Toolbox.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when using the “How Do I Make an Image Have a Transparent Background in Photoshop?” tutorial, you could end up with an image that has a completely transparent background. This may not be the desired effect, so be sure to check your work before saving the final image.

Then, click and drag over the area of the image that you want to make transparent. The eraser will remove the pixels from the layer, making them transparent. Finally, go to the “File” menu and select “Save As.” In the “Save As” dialogue box, select a file format that supports transparency, such as PNG or TIFF. Click “OK” to save the image with a transparent background.
