How Do I Make Text Vintage in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:33 pm

There are a few easy ways that you can make text look vintage in Photoshop. One way is to use the Overlay blending mode.

This will make your text appear more weathered and distressed. You can also use the Underline layer style to give your text a more antique feel. Finally, you can add a few textures to your text to really bring out the vintage look.

To use the Overlay blending mode, simply create a new layer and type your text onto it. Then, change the blending mode of the layer to Overlay. You may need to experiment with the opacity of the layer to get the desired effect.

PRO TIP: This tutorial is for advanced Photoshop users only. Making text vintage in Photoshop requires a good understanding of the software and how to use its various tools. If you are not comfortable with using Photoshop, or do not have a good understanding of the software, we recommend that you do not attempt this tutorial.

To use the Underline layer style, simply select your text layer and click on the “Layer Styles” button at the bottom of the Layers panel. Then, select “Underline” from the list of styles. You can adjust the thickness and color of the underline to suit your needs.

To add textures to your text, you can either create your own texture or use one of Photoshop’s built-in textures. To create your own texture, simply scan in some old paper or fabric and apply it to your text layer using the “Clipping Mask” option.

To use one of Photoshop’s built-in textures, go to the “Layer” menu and select “Layer Style.” Then, click on the “Texture” option and choose a texture from the list.
