Last updated on January 20, 2023 @ 1:13 pm

There are many reasons why you might want to migrate from Magento to WooCommerce. Maybe you’re looking for a more user-friendly platform, or maybe you’re just tired of the high costs of running a Magento store.

Whatever your reasons, migrating to WooCommerce is a pretty big undertaking. In this article, we’re going to talk about how to migrate from Magento to WooCommerce, and what you need to know before you make the switch.

The first thing you need to do is export your Magento products into a CSV file. You can do this by going to System > Import/Export > Export.

Make sure that you select Products as the entity type and Default Category as the category filter. Once you’ve exported your products, it’s time to import them into WooCommerce.

To import your products into WooCommerce, go to WooCommerce > Products > Add New. On the add new product page, select Import Products from the Bulk Actions dropdown menu and click Apply. Choose the CSV file that you exported from Magento and click Upload file and import. On the next screen, make sure that you select the correct mapping for each column and click continue.

Finally, review your imported products and click publish. And that’s it! You’ve successfully migrated your products from Magento to WooCommerce.

Migrating Your Customers

Now that you’ve migrated your products, it’s time to migrate your customers. To do this, you’ll need to export your customer data from Magento as a CSV file.

You can do this by going to System > Import/Export > Export. Make sure that you select Customers as the entity type. Once you’ve exported your customers, it’s time to import them into WooCommerce.

Note: If you’re using WordPress multisite, each site will need its own customer CSV file.

To import your customers into WooCommerce:

  1. Log in to your WordPress site (not
  2. WooCommerce) (as an administrator).
  3. Go to Tools > Import.
  4. Select WordPress from the list.
  5. If prompted, install the WordPress Importer plugin.
  6. Activate & Run Importer.
  7. Choose the customer CSV file from your computer.
  8. Map fields or leave default (skip first row).
  9. Select Yes for download and import file attachments.
  10. Choose Publish for new users.
  11. Click Submit
PRO TIP: If you are considering migrating your Magento store to WooCommerce, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, while WooCommerce is a powerful ecommerce platform, it is not as robust as Magento. This means that you may need to make some changes to your existing store before migrating, and that you may need to pay for some additional plugins or extensions to get the same functionality that you had with Magento. Secondly, while there are some great migration tools available, they can be complex to use and may require some technical expertise. Finally, once you have migrated your store, you will need to take some time to familiarize yourself with the WooCommerce platform and learn how to use its features and settings.

In conclusion, migrating from Magento to WooCommerce is a pretty big undertaking but can be easily done by exporting products into a CSV file and then importing them into WooCommerce. Additionally, customers can be migrated by exporting them into a CSV file and then importing them into WooComerce as well.
