How Do I Migrate WooCommerce to Another Server?

Last updated on December 23, 2022 @ 7:20 pm

Migrating your WooCommerce store to another server is a relatively easy process, and there are a few different ways to go about it. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:

1. Export your WooCommerce products. You can do this from the “Export” tab in your WordPress admin panel. Select “Products” from the drop-down menu and then click “Export”.

2. Export your WooCommerce orders. Select “Orders” from the drop-down menu and then click “Export”.

3. Export your WooCommerce customer data. You can do this from the “Tools” tab in your WordPress admin panel. Select “Export”, and then click on the “Customers” tab. From here, you can choose to export all customers or only those who have made a purchase.

4. Copy your WooCommerce files. Go to your old server and copy the following files:

  • /wp-content/uploads/wc-logs/
  • /.htaccess
  • /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/
  • /wp-content/themes/your-theme/woocommerce/
  • /wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/
  • wp-config.php

5. Copy your WordPress database. You will need to create a new database on your new server, and then import the data from your old database into it.

PRO TIP: Before you begin the process of migrating your WooCommerce site to another server, there are a few things you need to take into consideration.

  • First, backing up your site is essential. This will ensure that if anything goes wrong during the migration process, you have a backup to fall back on.
  • Second, you need to make sure that your new server is properly configured to run WooCommerce. Failure to do so could result in errors and downtime for your store.
  • Finally, once your site is migrated, be sure to test it thoroughly to ensure that everything is working as it should.
