As an online retailer, you may have considered offering free shipping and/or a discount to your customers. After all, these are two of the most popular ways to entice customers to shop with you instead of your competitors.
But how do you offer free shipping and/or a discount on Shopify? In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that!
There are a few different ways to offer free shipping and/or a discount on Shopify. You can either use Shopify’s built-in functionality, or you can use a Shopify app. Let’s take a look at both methods.
If you want to use Shopify’s built-in functionality, you can create a Shipping Profile. To do this, go to your Shopify admin and click on “Settings.”
Then, click on “Shipping.” On the Shipping page, click on “Create Shipping Profile.”
Enter a name for your Shipping Profile and then select the countries that you want to ship to. Next, decide what type of shipping rate you want to offer: free shipping, flat rate shipping, or calculated shipping.
If you choose free shipping, enter the minimum order amount that is required for customers to qualify for free shipping. If you choose flat rate shipping, enter the price that you want to charge for shipping. If you choose calculated shipping, Shopify will calculate the shipping rates based on the weight and dimensions of your products.
Once you’ve decided on the type of shipping rate, click “Save.” Your Shipping Profile will now be created and will appear in the list on the Shipping page.
If you want to offer a discount instead of (or in addition to) free shipping, you can create a Discount Code. To do this, go to your Shopify admin and click on “Discounts.” Then, click on “Create Discount.”
Enter a name for your Discount Code and then select the type of discount that you want to offer: percent off or fixed amount off. Next, enter the details of the discount (e.g., 10% off or $5 off).
Then, decide when you want the discount to expire and how many times it can be used. Finally, click “Save.” Your Discount Code will now be created and will appear in the list on the Discounts page.
You can also use a Shopify app to offer free shipping and/or a discount. There are many different apps available, so be sure to shop around and find one that meets your needs. Some popular options include: Free Shipping Bar by Hextom, Bulk Discounts by BoldCommerce, and Better Coupon Box by Adoric.
Once you’ve installed an app from the Shopify App Store, follow the instructions provided by the app developer to set up and configure it. Most apps will require you to enter some basic information (e., minimum order amount for free shipping or details of the discount) before they’re ready to use.
