How Do I Open Photoshop Files in Lightroom?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:03 pm

When you open a Photoshop file in Lightroom, you’re able to edit the image just like any other RAW file. You can make global changes to things like exposure and white balance, or make Targeted adjustments to specific areas of the image using the Develop module. You can even take advantage of Lightroom’s powerful presets and profiles to give your image a unique look.

To open a Photoshop file in Lightroom, simply go to File > Import from Disk and select the PSD file you want to import. Lightroom will automatically detect that it’s a Photoshop file and will import it accordingly.

Once the file is imported, you can begin editing it just like any other RAW file.

PRO TIP: Lightroom is not able to directly open Photoshop files. Instead, you will need to export the Photoshop file as a TIFF or JPEG and then import it into Lightroom.

So, if you’re looking for an easy way to edit your Photoshop files in Lightroom, simply go to File > Import from Disk and select the PSD file you want to import. Once the file is imported, you can begin editing it just like any other RAW file.
