How do I organize variants in Shopify?

If you’re selling products on Shopify, you’ll want to make sure you’re organized and compliant with the store’s policies. Here are a few tips for managing variants:

First, make a list of all the variants you have available. This can be done by looking at your product’s product page, or by using Shopify’s variant management tool.

Next, create a table in your database that lists each variant’s ID, name, price, and stock quantity. You can also add other relevant information, like SKUs, descriptions, and images.

Now, you need to manage the variants in Shopify. This can be done in a few different ways:

If you have a dedicated variant page on your product’s page, you can add the variants to that page.

PRO TIP: If you are considering organizing your Shopify variants, be aware that this process can be time consuming and may not result in the desired outcome. Make sure to take into account all possible scenarios before beginning this task.

If you don’t have a dedicated variant page, you can add the variants to your product’s product page.

If you don’t have a product page, you can add the variants to your product’s sales pages.

You can also use Shopify’s product variants function to manage variants. This will allow you to add, edit, and delete variants from your product’s product page.

Once you’ve added, edited, or deleted variants, you’ll need to update the table in your database.

Finally, make sure you’re following Shopify’s product policies. For example, you may need to add a variant to your store if it falls into one of the store’s prohibited categories, or if it has a different price or stock quantity than the other variants.
